The term “Balance” is hot right now. We see it in self-help books, hear about it on TV, and talk about how impossible it is with our friends. And sometimes we are right, it actually isn’t possible, so consider this:

When you hit your next ‘balance impossible’ time period, instead of fighting it, give yourself permission to take a vacation from balance. Choose a period of time, be it 2 weeks or 4 months, during which you will allow yourself to be unbalanced. Write down on a calendar the actual date that you are going to revisit the idea of becoming balanced and then, let it go.

And maybe you will find that being unbalanced makes this time period full and enjoyable in its own way.
